Welcome to Coffey County Kansas

Coffey County was founded in 1855. Since then the population has grown to over 8,000. Coffey County is easily accessed via Interstate 35 and Highway 75. Burlington, the county seat, is just 16 miles south of Beto Junction, the intersection of Highway 75 and Interstate 35. Coffey County is known as one of the most progressive counties in Kansas and is proud to be the home of the only nuclear power generating station in Kansas.

"LIGHTS IN THE SKY IN NORTHEAST COFFEY COUNTY

Coffey County received notice from EDP Renewables, Wind Farm Developer, that construction crews on the Ad Astra Wind Farm in the Waverly area will be working a 24 hour work day until further notice. If you see bright lights in the sky in northeast Coffey County, it is most likely the wind farm crews!
