Capture Coffey County Photo Contest
Get your cameras ready and your creative juices flowing! Submit your best photos of our great county in our 2nd Annual Capture Coffey County Photo Contest.
Coffey County Economic Development is searching for photos that capture the essence of our county and welcome visitors to “Come Explore Our Energy”.
Last year, 138 photos were submitted through this contest and a majority of photos are now featured on the Coffey County website, various tourism advertisements, and the Wolf Creek Emergency Planning Calendar.
“We were so pleased with the submissions and excitement over this contest last year that we knew we had to do it again,” said Stacy Haines, Coffey County Economic Development Director. “It’s been wonderful to use images from local residents to help promote our county. It makes it much more personal and meaningful. We hope the creation of categories will entice more submissions this year, especially in the youth division.”
Sponsored by Coffey County Economic Development, this contest is open to Coffey County residents only. All entries must be received by May 8, 2017. Winners will be announced on June 12, 2017.
Winners will be awarded in two divisions (adult and youth), and three categories (Outdoors/Wildlife, Business/Agriculture, People/Community/School).
First Place winners in each category will receive $50 in Chamber Bucks and 2nd Place in each category will receive $25 in Chamber Bucks. A Grand Prize in the amount of $100 Chamber Bucks will be awarded in both the Adult and Youth Division.
Coffey County Chamber Bucks can be used at participating county businesses. For more information on Chamber Bucks, contact the Coffey County Chamber of Commerce.
Photos submitted may be selected for various promotional uses for Coffey County, including the website, regional and state publications, and social media. Photo credit will be given to the photographer when possible and when the photo credit doesn’t infringe on the overall promotional message.
In collaboration with Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation, photos may be selected for use in promotional materials for the plant, such as the Coffey County Emergency Planning Calendar. By entering this contest, you give permission to Wolf Creek to use your images.
