Abbreviated FAQ, pronounced "fack." A document that contains answers to questions that new users often ask when they first subscribe to a newsgroup or first access a Web site.
The FAQ contains answers to common questions that the seasoned users have grown tired of answering. New users should look for and read the FAQ before posting their question, just in case the FAQ contains the answer.
