Abbreviated ITU. The U.N. umbrella organization that develops and standardizes telecommunications worldwide.
The ITU also contains the CCITT, the International Frequency Registration Board (IFRB), and the Consultative Committee on International Radio (CCIR). In popular usage, CCITT standards are being referred to as ITU standards.
