A cross-platform data format from Apple Computer, Inc., used to display movies. QuickTime synchronizes as many as 32 tracks containing time-based digital data such as sound, video, MIDI, or other control information. A QuickTime movie created on one platform can be played back on another without modification; versions are available for Macintosh and Microsoft Windows.
