Kansas Income Tax Rates

Corporate Income Tax:
        Taxable income @ 4.00% plus 3.35% surtax on taxable income over $50,000

Personal Income Tax:
    Individual:
        Taxable income not over $15,000 @ 3.5%
        Taxable income not over $30,000 @ $525.00 plus 6.25% of excess over $15,000
        Taxable income over $30,000 @ $1,462.50 plus 6.45% of excess over $30,000


    Joint:
        Taxable income not over $30,000 @ 3.5%
        Taxable income not over $60,000 @ $1,050.00 plus 6.25% of excess over $30,000
        Taxable income over $60,000 @ $2,925.00 plus 6.45% of excess over $60,000


Enterprise Zone Credits

Manufacturing Firms:   (Must create at least two net new jobs.)

  • Sales Tax Exemption
  • Located in a Kansas Non-metropolitan Region
  • Job Creation Tax Credit - $2,500 per net new job
  • Investment Tax Credit - $1,000 for each $100,000 of qualified investment
Non-Manufacturing Firms:  (Must create at least five net new jobs.)
  • Sales Tax Exemption
  • Located in a Kansas Non-metropolitan Region
  • Job Creation Tax Credit - $2,500 per net new job
  • Investment Tax Credit - $1,000 for each $100,000 of qualified investment
Retail:
  • Sales Tax Exemption (available only for businesses in communities of less than 2,500 population)
  • Job Creation Tax Credit - $100 per year for 10 years for each new job created, available under K.S.A. 1993 Supp. 79-32, 153 as amended
  • Investment Tax Credit - $100 per year for 10 years for each $100,000 in business investment, available under K.S.A. 1993 Supp. 79-32, 153 as amended
