Covering 630 square miles, Coffey County and the City of Burlington, the county seat, are located on US 75 Highway (N/S), 16 miles south of Interstate 35 in east-central Kansas. Interstate 70 (E/W) can be accessed 55 miles north at Topeka, the State Capitol; US 169 Highway (N/S) is found 18 miles east of Burlington; and US 54 Highway crosses US 75 Highway, 20 miles south of Burlington.

Airports serving the county are: Coffey County Airport is located 8 miles north of Burlington on US 75 Highway. The Airport offers hard surface runways, 18 and 36, 5500 X 75; Color Radar; Papi approach and runway lights - transmitter activated; Fixed Base Operator; FAA designation - UKC/NDB 245, Unicom 123.0; field elevation - 1173. Other services available at Coffey County Airport include: transient aircraft parking; tie downs; T-hangars; pilots lounge; rental aircraft; full time mechanic on duty; alternative power unit; data transmission network; quick turn around; courtesy cars; full time flight instructor and ground school; and 100LL and JET A fuel at competitive rates.

Winter hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Coffey County Airport

Forbes Field, a commercial airport at Topeka, is located 50 miles north of Coffey County. Phillip Billiard Airport offers parcel and air freight (Godfrey Aviation services Coffey County), general aviation, and corporate aircraft service. Kansas City International Airport (KCI), 1 1/2 hours northeast, offers 17 scheduled commercial airlines.

Railroads serving the county are Union Pacific at LeRoy and Burlington-Northern-Santa Fe at Lebo. The nearest inter-modal terminal is 45 miles.

Air Freight / Parcel Service is provided by UPS and Federal Express. KCI offers 10 air freight companies to serve you. Motor carriers = 3 Interstate and Intrastate.
