DEPUTY TREASURER
Coffey County Treasurer's Office

The Coffey County Teasurer's Office is accepting applications for a Deputy Treasurer. The main duties of this position are recording revenues and disbursements, preparing distributions of tax revenues, and disbursing funds. An employee is this position will perform accounting operations and systems, and is responsible for the operation of the Coffey County Treasurer's Office in absence of the Treasurer. Selected applicants will have the opportunity to proceed to a structural interview and if an applicant is made a conditional offer of employment, he/she will be asked to submit to a drug screening.

Minimum qualification requirements: must have high school diploma or GED equivalent, and five years general office experience preferably with a bookkeeping background. The employee will possess an aptitude for business mathematics and the ability to concentrate on detail. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office; excellent spreadsheet skills. Working knowledge of bookkeeping and standard accounting procedures, with ability to prepare bank deposits, read/interpret bank statements, and maintains complete and accurate accounting records. Employee must possess the ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with the public.
