The Water Rescue Division of Coffey County Fire District #1 is comprised of volunteers, with specialized skills and training in water rescue, search and recovery. The division specializes in water incidents, whether it be still water, swift water or underwater, but is not limited to water incidents only. It is also prepared for rescue/recovery searches on land.

Two divisions comprise the team: a surface division and an underwater division. The underwater portion is cross trained for both surface and underwater incidents. The surface portion is trained for surface/recovery incidents and to aid and support the underwater portion on any incident.

Each team member trains numerous hours each year for responding to emergency or disaster situations.

If you are interested in joining CCFD#1 Water Rescue Division, please contact Ken Roney, Division Leader, at (620) 364-2123 or (620) 364-2305.
