The Coffey County Housing Authority was established in 1992 by the Coffey County Board of County Commissioners. This Authority was established for the express purpose of enhancing the housing for the citizens of Coffey County.
The Authority is governed by a five-member Board of Directors appointed by the Coffey County Commissioners.

NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION:
Coffey County Housing constructs new single-family homes. New homes have been built in each one of our towns in our county. These homes are available for purchase by anyone with proper financing. Contact Coffey County Housing Authority for current homes for sale.

HOUSING PRESERVATION GRANT:
Over the past several years, Coffey County Housing has obtained and administered in excess of a million
dollars worth of housing rehabilitation grants. These grants, which require no repayment have been used for
home repairs including, foundation work, roof repair and replacement, siding replacement, window replacements,
plumbing and electrical upgrades, and a lot of various general construction
projects. Applicant must meet guidelines.
DEMOLITION:
The Housing Authority through its demolition program has demolished several homes and dangerous structures
over the past several years. There is a limit on the amount of County Funds available for this project.
PAINT PROGRAM:
In a continuing effort to improve the living conditions within the County, the Housing Authority
will provide paint for exterior painting at no cost to the homeowner if they meet income guidelines. The homeowner is responsible for the labor. When materials and funding are available.
RENTAL RESOURCE GUIDE:
Coffey County Housing provides at no charge to landlords and tenants a listing of current property in
the County to rent. Landlords list their properties for rent and potential renters have a ready source of
properties for rent.
REFURBISHED HOMES:
CCHA started in 2010 buying and refurbishing affordable homes in Coffey County. After work is completed on the home it is sold to anyone with proper financing.
