Community Education Programs

The Coffey County Sheriff's Office Offers a varied list of classes and programs to organizations, churches, libraries and our schools. We understand that information and education are the keys to understanding and that an informed public is our best resource for problem solving.

Deputy Jeremy M. Lind has been involved in varies activities and programs over the past few years. The following have been presented to various members of our community:

Crime Tips
Click here to send anonymous tips to the Sheriff's Office. Any information that can be provided on Past Crimes or Current Criminal Activity is greatly appreciated.

IDent-A-Kid
This program is free of charge to participants and is used to assist parents in keeping useful information about their kids, should the need arise. Participants are provided a card with fingerprints and useful information stored on the card. The Coffey County Sheriff's Office has been very successful with this program, having fingerprinted hundreds of kids already! If you or you have a group of children interested in this program for the children, please contact Deputy Lind at jlind@coffeycountyks.org.

Shoplifting Hurts Everyone:   This class looks at what shoplifting is and how it hurts both consumers and business owners. Discussion will include penalties.

Question and Answer:    Students will be given the opportunity to write questions in advance about criminal law, police or the court system. The teacher will collect these anonymous questions and give them to the SRO to use in preparing the presentation. This format provides a good opportunity for the students to ask questions they may not otherwise ask, we would also answer spontaneous questions.
