Coffey County Lake is Open!

Coffey County Lake (5,090 acres) has proven to be one of the premier fishing lakes since opening for limited public fishing in October 1996.

Coffey County Lake is dedicated exclusively to fishing. The lake has been featured on national television programs such as  Jimmy Houston's Outdoors and Bill Saiff's Rod and Reel. Many fisherman have shared their fishing experiences. Coffey County Lake is also on the Catfish Chasers Tournament as the only night tournament of the circuit. Also, this tournament is the only time that fishing at night is permitted by lake management.

Coffey County Lake offers one of the best predator to prey ratios in the country, which means fish thrive year long.  Largemouth Bass and crappie can often be hooked near areas of standing timber.  The open waters are home to white bass and wipers.  Along the rock-lined shores you're likely to find walleye, channel catfish, and probably the best supply of Smallmouth Bass anywhere in the Midwest.  For additional information call the Gatehouse at (620) 364-2475.

The lake is open for public use everyday except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Lake hours are subject to change due to specific weather conditions. The lake may close if specific weather conditions arise.
